Vaccinate Your Pets Against Rabies
In accordance with Virginia State Law, all dogs and cats over the age of 4 months are required to be vaccinated for rabies. This vaccination must have a booster every 1-3 years to be valid. This law is to ensure public and animal safety from this deadly disease. Each county/city also required that you purchase yearly dog license tags. These can be purchased at the local court house or municipal building for minimal cost. Please note that you must show your animals rabies vaccination to get these tags. Failure to comply with these laws will result in court action and fines. Please help keep our community pets safe!Dogs requiring homes at Essex County Animal Shelter, Tappahannock, VA
